EU will 'endeavour' to ensure NZ's vaccine contracts will be honoured - Ambassador

A move by the European Union to bring in new controls on Covid-19 vaccine exports has led New Zealand health authorities to worry that fewer doses could make it here.

The so-called transparency mechanism gives European governments the power to block vaccine exports if the company making them has not honoured existing contracts with the EU.

But European diplomats say the changes will actually benefit New Zealand's vaccine roll-out.
