Covid-19: Chris Bishop wants 'very urgent quick review' of MIQ after latest cases

From Morning Report, 8:21 am on 28 January 2021

National Party Covid-19 Response spokesperson Chris Bishop wants a "very urgent quick review" of managed isolation and quarantine after several cases of a more transmissible variant of Covid-19 appear to have spread within the Pullman Hotel.

One woman, who left the Pullman on 13 January and travelled home to Northland, tested positive for the virus on Saturday. It was genomically linked to another person who tested positive while in isolation at the Pullman and was staying on the same floor.

Since then another two people have tested positive in Auckland. Preliminary genomic testing results link the pair with the woman from Northland.
