The mayor of South Taranaki, Phil Nixon, says he's shocked to hear the police have launched a homicide inquiry after two people were found dead in Hawera early this morning. Emergency services, including two ambulances, were called to the property in Taranaki just before 3 o'clock. One person at the scene has been arrested and the police are not seeking anyone else.
