Bikes are being stolen at an alarmingly high rate in Auckland - in some cases by organised gangs with lookouts. Barbara Cuthbert, the chair of Bike Auckland, told reporter Amy Williams that CCTV footage shows some owners use light cable locks, which can be easily broken, or cafe locks, which only lock the wheels.
