Edible chocolate more than 120 years old discovered

From Morning Report, 8:55 am on 22 December 2020

One of the oldest boxes of chocolate has been discovered in Australia.

At 120 years past its expiry date, the Cadbury bar is remarkably in almost edible condition.

The six chocolate fingers preserved in straw and silver foil were found among the belongings of Australian bush poet Banjo Paterson - who wrote the words to the song Waltzing Matilda.

The tin was part of a consignment ordered by Queen Victoria for troops fighting the South African War.

But the question is... would you eat it?

George Havlik, the owner and head chocolatier at Bohemian Chocolates, speaks to Corin Dann.
