Disabled pre-schoolers waiting two months for specialist help

Waiting times to get specialist help for disabled pre-schoolers have been sharply reduced but child advocates say any delay is still too long.

After years of criticism, the Education Ministry has cut the average waiting time for its early intervention service from 3.5 to 2.5 months.

The Early Childhood Council and IHC say it's a start, but they don't believe children with disabilities should have to wait any time at all for support.
