A ship carrying goods destined for Auckland is unloading its goods in Whangārei, as 800 extra truck trips take the goods south over the next week.
Constantinos P was diverted to Northport because of delays in unloading.
The trucks will travel to Auckland via State Highway 1 and across two sections of tricky road in the Dome Valley and the Brynderwyn Ranges.
