Christchurch terror attacks: Witnesses treated differently to victims

From Morning Report, 6:39 am on 7 December 2020

Witnesses to the horrific Christchurch terror attacks will only be given the Royal Commission findings just hours before they are publicly released tomorrow.

That's in contrast to the bereaved and bullet injured who were given the 800 page report at the weekend.

Witness, Faisal Sayed, told Conan Young that was unfortunate.

Asked why witnesses were not given an advanced copy of the findings at the weekend, a spokesperson for the Prime Minister, says they wanted to limit the numbers in receipt of them and had to draw the line somewhere.
