The Māori Party is back - marking its return to Parliament with powerful speeches and impassioned waiata.
After a devastating loss in 2017, Māori Party co-leader Rawiri Waititi secured the party's return - winning the Waiariki seat off Labour's Tāmati Coffey.
The special votes meant he was joined by co-leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer.
The pair were supported by hundreds who travelled from across the country as they made their maiden speeches in the House yesterday.
RNZ political reporter Katie Scotcher was there.
