Māori and Pasifika female academics are paid nearly $8000 less a year than their non-Māori and Pasifika male counterparts.
That's just one of the findings from a new study, led by Dr Tara McAllister at the research centre Te Pūnaha Matatini - which has revealed the gender and ethnic disparities in New Zealand universities.
Māori academics are calling for universities to do better.
