Reefton residents are horrified at the prospect of losing the only bank in town.
The Bank of New Zealand will shut its West Coast branch along with 37 others by the middle of next year.
The Coast is now putting up its hand to be included in a regional banking hub scheme, for which a nationwide pilot is now underway.
