Marlborough residents delighted by freedom camping site closure

From Morning Report, 8:46 am on 1 December 2020

Double Bay residents are "over the moon" about the Marlborough District Council's decision to close a freedom campsite in their bay.

The council voted to end freedom camping at all but five of the council's campsites in Marlborough, and visitors at those sites now must be in self-contained vehicles.

Residents had been rallying against freedom campers who were using the beach and bush as a toilet.
