Residents of a seaside town north of Wellington are continuing to face a big clean-up this morning after water surged through properties on Sunday morning.
Plimmerton was hit by torrential rain leaving some residents ankle deep in water in their living rooms.
State Highway 1 was closed from Plimmerton to Paekakariki causing major traffic delays.
