Bombings in Bamiyan province in Afghanistan have killed more than a dozen people and injured many more.
New Zealand had a provincial reconstruction team in Bamiyan for 10 years - from 2003-2013 - and the area was touted as a success story of peace-keeping.
But the bombings are a sign of deterioration.
