More than a hundred pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins have died after becoming stranded on the Chatham Islands.
Commercial diver and photographer Sam Wild, who is currently in the islands, says the whales became stranded at a northern beach on the main Chatham Island over the weekend.
He told RNZ reporter Anan Zaki that it was a horrific scene.
