Youth Hostels Association not pleased with suggested new tourism strategy

The government's proposed "reset" on tourism - focussing on attracting high net worth visitors - continues to stir up reaction in the industry.

The Youth Hostels Association has published an open letter to Tourism Minister Stuart Nash, saying the youth market's significance to the New Zealand economy should not be understated.

It says young travellers historically inject $1.5 billion dollars a year into the economy, the most by any age group.
