Afghan journalist on Brereton Report

A culture of secrecy, fabrication and deceit has been blamed for the actions of elite Australian soldiers in Afghanistan.

A long-running probe found "credible information" supporting allegations of war crimes by the country's special forces.

The Brereton Report - released yesterday after a four-year inquiry - detailed dozens of unlawful killings. Some were carried out as an initiation rite.

Afghan journalist Bilal Sarwary from Kabul, and has interviewed some of the victims' families.
