Having spent much of the year shedding staff - the tourism and hospitality industry is on the lookout for workers again but it's not proving easy to fill vacancies.
A Tourism Industry Aotearoa survey shows nearly half of businesses wanting to hire in the leadup to summer can't find suitable candidates.
Matt Stenton is programme director of online platform "Go With Tourism" which has had success this year placing former hospitality workers in alternative employment and education.
