Government still seeking information around China Covid-19 meat

The government is still seeking more information about a claim that Covid-19 has been found on New Zealand meat exports to China.

News agency Reuters reported that the virus was detected on beef and tripe products in eastern China imported from New Zealand, Argentina, and Brazil.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she is confident New Zealand products are not being exported with traces of the virus, given the country's "essentially Covid-free" status.
