$900m motorway at 'high' to 'extreme' threat of landslides

From Morning Report, 7:35 am on 9 November 2020

Landslides are a 'high' to 'extreme' threat at the $900 million stretch of motorway being built between Puhoi and Warkworth.

Because of the Covid-19 lockdown, slopes and cuts from earthworks near the new road have been exposed to more rain for longer than expected.

The threat of these slips is revealed in risk registers for the project released to RNZ under the OIA.

Phil Pennington has the registers.
