Covid-19 a big influence in Cabinet shake up

If it was a Covid-19 election, this could be called a Covid-19 Cabinet, with the pandemic having a big hand in the shape of the new line up.

Chris Hipkins will take up the newly created role of Minister for Covid-19 Response - running the border defences, the managed isolation hotels and the health response.

All other aspects of Health will be the remit of the new minister Andrew Little.

The pandemic has also seen first time MP Ayesha Verrall parachuted straight into Cabinet - which is being hailed as the most diverse ever.
