Tokelauan community wants language as NCEA subject

Ensuring the survival of their language for future generations is why the Tokelauan community in Porirua are keen to have it included in the New Zealand school curriculum.

Tokelau is a New Zealand Pacific realm nation - as is Niue and the Cook Islands.

Tokelauan is the only one of the three languages not available as an NCEA subject.
