Porirua is now the most expensive district in the country to rent a house.
That's according to the latest Trade Me Rental Price Index, which found Porirua rents climbed to a record $625 per week in September.
That is an increase of 25 percent since the same time last year. Wellington City and North Shore are tied for second place. While nationally, rents grew by 3 percent year on year to an average of $510 a week.
