Melbourne moves closer to full reopening after lockdown

From Morning Report, 8:37 am on 27 October 2020

After 12 weeks in lockdown, those living in Melbourne are about to get their first real taste of freedom.

Premier Daniel Andrews announced restrictions will ease across the state of Victoria tonight at 1159 PM.

The move to Step 3 follows the first official day of zero new cases and a week with no new deaths from Covid-19.

The restrictions are much like New Zealand's Level 2 with restaurants, bars and shops able to open with restricted customer numbers.
