From Morning Report, 7:34 am on 27 October 2020

After three months in strict lockdown, Melbourne is about to take the first big step towards freedom.

Premier Daniel Andrews revealed on Monday that the city will move to 'Step 3' - similar to New Zealand's level 2 - tonight at 11.59 PM.

Premier Andrews also announced larger group sizes will be allowed for weddings, funerals, religious services and gatherings at home.

Indoor venues like cinemas and theatres are still closed.
