New MPs finish their first week in Parliament

Forty first time MPs have had a big first week in the capital, receiving a crash course on how to do their job.

While the results from the special votes are still yet to be revealed, Labour MPs will make up the bulk of the new cohort.

They've spent the week meeting new colleagues, introducing themselves to the media, and trying not to get lost in the halls of power.

Nine new ACT MPs have joined David Seymour. RNZ asked if one was available for an interview, but the party refused.
