Labour wins overwhelming majority and could govern alone
Labour has secured 64 seats this election - enough to govern alone. The party won 49 percent of the country's support, with more than half a million more votes than second-placed National Party. In a victory speech to her supporters, Jacinda Ardern said Labour had been handed clear authority to chart the country's recovery from the impact of Covid-19.
