Lake Ōhau residents remain in the dark about when they will be able to permanently return to their properties in the wake of the fire.
Ten days ago, the blaze tore through the village, destroying or damaging more than 50 properties.
Yesterday, the Lake Ōhau Rd was reopened to the outskirts of the village to allow more people to access nearby properties.
