Men arrested after Dilworth investigation to appear in court

The men accused of historical sexual offending at the boys boarding school Dilworth boys' boarding school in Auckland are due to start appearing in court today.

Seven men have been charged so far after a year-long investigation, dubbed Operation Beverly, stemming from just a single complaint.

The police will say the offending dates as far back as the 1970s through to the late 2000s.

Dilworth is a long-standing and well-regarded private boarding school with fees paid for by a charity, as the boys are generally from lower socio-economic families.

The police have now expanded their team of investigators after fielding more than 70 phone calls from the public with information.
