Amnesty International accuses Palantir Technologies of contributing to human rights violations

From Morning Report, 8:40 am on 1 October 2020

Amnesty International is accusing the US company Palantir Technologies of contributing to human rights violations against asylum-seekers and migrants through its work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the US.

Palantir Technologies provides data analysis software and earlier this year pitched contact tracing technology to New Zealand's Ministry of Health.

Corin Dann spoke to Michael Kleinman, from Amnesty International's Silicon Valley Initiative.

He said he believed there was a chance the company is at least partly responsible for human rights violations.
