Royal Commission into Abuse in Care: Man died before getting chance to tell abuse story

A man who suffered horrific abuse while wrongly being held in psychiatric care in the 1970s, died shortly before getting the chance to tell his story.

The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care is currently holding public hearings in Auckland.

Patrick Stevens, was scheduled to meet with the commission in March but Covid-19 lockdowns put paid to that. He died in April.
