Man pleads Royal Commission to prevent future abuse

From Morning Report, 8:21 am on 22 September 2020

A man who was abused as a child while in a boys home has pleaded with the Royal Commission Inquiry into abuse in state care to make sure future generations aren't allowed to suffer as he and many others did.

The Commission is looking into abuse between 1950 and 1999.

It resumed public hearings in Auckland yesterday, with the focus on how victims have sought out redress through acknowledgement of what they endured and compensation.

Reporter Andrew McRae was at the hearing.
