Two Taranaki Rugby legends have welcomed the Ranfurly Shield back to the province.
1996 Shield winners Kevin "Smiley" Barrett and Andy Slater were at New Plymouth Airport yesterday morning after their sons Beauden and Jordie Barrett and Bradley Slater helped the Amber and Blacks wrestle the Log o' Wood away from Canterbury.
Sports reporter Brenton Vannisselroy caught up with Taranaki captain Teihorangi Walden shortly after he carried the Shield off the plane.
