Covid-19, conspiracy theories, poverty causing school attendance trouble - principals

Principals are blaming conspiracy theories about the pandemic and economic turmoil for persistently low school attendance in Northland.

Education Ministry figures show average daily attendance in the region last week was just over 86 percent.

That's about the same as Auckland which is still rebuilding attendance rates after Alert Level 3.
