Principal on student with Covid-19 going to school

From Morning Report, 7:24 am on 18 September 2020

Auckland Regional Public Health Service says Chapel Downs School families were alerted as soon as it was confirmed that a pupil who tested positive for Covid-19 attended the school on Monday morning for half an hour between 8.30 and 9am.

Parents are angry that despite the pupil testing positive on Monday afternoon, they were not notified until Wednesday.

The school has now been shut down for deep cleaning and anyone who was present at the school on Monday morning is being advised to stay away from people outside their bubble until they are tested and receive a negative result.

Vaughan Van Rensburg is the Principal of Chapel Downs School.
