Covid-19: Iwi warns cost too great not to do the right thing after loss of valued member

From Morning Report, 8:37 am on 17 September 2020

A Raukawa iwi representative is warning the cost of the virus is too great not to do the right thing. The iwi has lost a valued iwi member to Covid-19.

It was confirmed yesterday Nigel Te Hiko was the 25th person to die in NZ after contracting the virus.

He was the youngest person to die of virus in Aotearoa at the age of 54 and his death follows the passing of his brother, Alan Te Hiko, earlier this month also due to Covid-19.

Vanessa Eparaima is the chair of the Raukawa Settlement Trust.

She speaks to Corin Dann.
