Push to get parents speaking te reo Māori at home with tamariki

Those working to make te reo the first language of tamariki Māori are pushing for it to be spoken routinely at home. 

The Māori Language Commission is aiming for a quarter of Māori children under 7 to have te reo Māori as their native language by 2040.

But many of their parents don't have the language themselves and so it's a struggle to keep the language up outside of the classroom.
