An increased age rating and a warning have been placed on a new Netflix documentary showing brief clips of the Christchurch mosque terror attacks.
The imagery comes from the mass murderer's own livestreaming of the killings.
The documentary, The Social Media Dilemma, started screening in this country late last week with a seven years-plus rating.
Complaints to the chief censor prompted him to contact Netflix on Saturday, but they refused to remove the clips.
The streaming service did agree to raise the age-rating and add a warning saying it contained scenes from the shootings.
Chief censor David Shanks described the offending scenes to RNZ's Conan Young.
