Drug driving laws could violate Bill of Rights - Government legal adviser

The Government's top legal adviser believes proposed drug driving laws trample all over the Bill of Rights.

Police would be free to conduct random roadside drug testing similar to what already exists for drink driving.

The test would aim to identify commonly used drugs such as cannabis, methamphetamine, MDMA, opiates and downers.
