Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott was appointed over the weekend as an unpaid trade adviser to the UK government despite claims he was not suitable for the role.
The appointment comes despite Abbott's past comments of climate change being "faddish" and his claim that the world was "in the grip of a climate cult".
Abbott has also been accused in the past of making homophobic and mysogynistic comments.
