Thousands of general practice nurses are expected to go on strike today as they bid for equal pay with hospital colleagues.
DHB nurses won a pay rise in 2018 following industrial action, but primary health care nurses - those at GPs and A&Es - say they're still paid 10 percent less.
More than 500 general practices could be affected today but doctors are offering their support.
The chair of the medical association, and a GP herself, Kate Baddock, says a pay deal would only cost the government 15 million dollars.
