Taranaki principals want answers over Green School funding

From Morning Report, 6:18 am on 1 September 2020

Seconday school principals in Taranaki are demanding answers from the Education Minister about a private Green School receiving almost $12 million in Government funding.

They have written an open leader to Chris Hipkins about the school getting money as a "shovel ready" project.

In another twist, Newshub has reported two parents held a fundraising event at the school which included "bio-energy field cleaning" and "DNA activation."

The outlet also reported there are plans by those same parents to run crystal planting with students as part of a tour of New Zealand.

A spokesperson for the school said it's their policy not to make comment about any parents or students.

Taranaki Secondary Principals Association chair Martin Chamberlain told political reporter Charlie Dreaver local principals are yet to receive answers.
