Tasmanian Tiger pelt found in Wairarapa museum

A pelt of a Tasmanian Tiger that for decades languished in a Wairarapa taxidermy museum is giving the scientific world new insights into the extinct Australian marsupial.

The New Zealand pelt has revealed detail about their coats, and provided some surviving DNA.

Te Papa curator, Alan Tennyson, alerted the Australians to the existence of the New Zealand pelt.
