Aucklanders are waking up to life in Alert Level 2 after the city moved out lockdown at midnight.
There are still restrictions on social gatherings, and Aucklanders are being encouraged to keep wearing masks when they're out and about.
Up to a 250,000 pupils will be expected to turn up to class today.
Schools are having to instil strong public health measures and install a contact tracing system, complete with QR code and register.
But a mother of four children in Auckland who wanted to remain anonymous, told Harry Lock she doesn't feel comfortable sending her kids back just yet.
