Norway took a different approach to in its trial of far-right terrorist Anders Breivik after he murdered seventy-seven people in Oslo 2011.
His trial lasted ten weeks, and was guided by the idea that to prevent a similar tragedy from occurring it was necessary for the public to understand what happened.
Åsne Seierstad wrote One of Us: The Story of Anders Breivik and the Massacre in Norway, which is the basis for the film 22 July.
