Covid-19: Concerns overstayers will fear getting tested

From Morning Report, 7:58 am on 27 August 2020

A Pacific leader says there's "no chance" people who have overstayed their visas will feel able to come forward for a Covid-19 test, despite assurances from the Health Minister.

Chris Hipkins says the government will not use any information that is collected through testing for immigration purposes.

He says they don't want anyone who is at risk or may potentially have the virus to be scared of coming forward to have a test.

Efeso Collins is Auckland councillor for the Manukau ward.
