The Restaurant Association has delivered a petition calling on the government to adopt a scheme similar to the UK's "Eat Out to Help Out" initiative.
Under the UK scheme, the government foots the bill for 50 percent of a meal eaten at a cafe, restaurant or pub to support the struggling hospitality industry.
