From Morning Report, 6:08 am on 26 August 2020

Warning: This story deals with the fall out of the Christchurch mosque shooting and may be distressing to some people.

The Christchurch mosque gunman will have his first and only opportunity to address the High Court in Christchurch this morning.

His chance to speak comes after two days of victim impact statements including a man who was wounded in the Christchurch terror attack says the shooting brought people together, and the shooter did not succeed in weakening their faith.

Twenty-nine-year-old Australian, Brenton Tarrant, is this week being sentenced for the attack which killed 51 Muslim worshippers at Masjid Al Noor and the Linwood Islamic Centre last year.

Wasseim Daragmih told the High Court in Christchurch yesterday, that he came to the court, just to enjoy and laugh at seeing the terrorist in the dock.
