The Christchurch gunman representing himself in the courtroom this week will still have laywers on standby to support him.
The Law Society says the lawyers should be commended, and not criticised, for their role in his sentencing.
The Society's president Tiana Epati says the lawyers acting in these roles are doing so because it is their professional duty.
