Christchurch mosque: Victim's mother's powerful statement

"You killed your own humanity and the world won't forgive you" - that was the message from the mother of a Christchurch mosque attack victim towards the terrorist that murdered her son.

The sentencing of 29-year-old Australian, Brenton Tarrant, began at the High Court in Christchurch yesterday.

Maysoon Salama, whose son Ata Elayyan was murdered by the gunman at the Al Noor Mosque on March 15th last year, delivered a victim impact statement, describing the hurt that has been brought upon the family.

The sentencing of the terrorist is due to resume on Tuesday morning.
